    I agree. The shoulder pads really distract from the overall look. The catch word for the New 52 figures seems to be "detailing." We're going to take our characters and as much detailing as possible. In this case it seems to miss the mark. Darkseid's mystiques has always been his simplicity. On Apokolips he is surrounded by characters that have a lot of flash and tech, while he is merely the baddest of the bad. There is no need for further intimidation than just being Darkseid. The detailing over all looks attractive, but does not compliment the character; especially those shoulder pads, which are a nuisance. So, adding some detail to Darkseid to fit in with the New 52 might have been okay, but in this case they should have pulled back on the throttle a little.
