Bam! Mekaneck! How cool is that?

I love the multiple size options for his neck, though I’m curious what they mean by “fully poseable.” I kind of hope it’s not the same material as Snout Spout’s trunk. But from these picture, Mek is looking pretty fantastic! And i think this is a really neat way to reveal a figure. Kudos Mattel!

I’ve got to say, QC and Digital River issues aside, 2012 has been one heck of an amazing year for MOTU Classics, as far as the actual action figures go. Some of the absolute best figures in this entire line have come out this year, in my opinion. Fisto, Kobra Khan, Draego-Man, Stinkor, Slush Head, Spikor on the way, Mosquitor on the way, and now Mekaneck. I love it!

Really surprised we are getting him in 2012, particularly in the middle/end of the year as opposed to at the start to drive sub sales. Great looking figure though. I never liked the character in filmation, but after 200X gave him a little more… sarcastic shrewdness and general "character" I cannot wait to get him.

2012 IS turning out to be the Best year to date!

  • Nice if they'd sent this to *all* their subscribers #didn'treceive #slightlybitter

    • Pixel Dan says:

Did you check your spam box? A lot of people found it in their spam box, because of the way the title of the e-mail looked.

  • @srattigan says:

This figure makes me ridiculously happy, I'm especially glad we're getting the larger neck piece.

  • @Replikor says:

My money is now officially on Ram Man or Mosquitor being the 2013 Sub figure.

    • fball13z says:

TG has already said it will not be a main figure again.

    • Pixel Dan says:

Mosquitor was already confirmed for 2012, so he'll be either the November or December figure. Also, Scott confirmed that Ram Man will NOT be the exclusive. He also said that they would never do a "major" character as a Subscription Exclusive again, stating that Shadow Weaver was the one and only time they did that. So Ram Man will definitely be part of the regular monthly releases when he comes out. And the Subscription Exclusive will be a "variant" type figure again next year.

So, I hope you didn't bet anyone yet, because you'd lose your money. 😉

He looks awesome. I thought we might get Clamp Champ with the Fisto armor out first. Am I the only person waiting for Rio Blast?

  • Frequincy says:

Awesome! Looks fantastic. Can't wait to get him. The looong neck piece is really cool. I agree with others, this is an amazing MOTUC year. Hope we get a few more.

  • JOEY KELLY says:

i am so happy with how true they have kept to the vintage look. i can imagine he's gonna look great packed out in his box.

  • razorsedge660r says:

no way chris, i too would love to have a new rio blast, clamp champ and extendar being three of my all time faves , but i really can't wait for this new mekaneck i'm soo glad they brought him out for us this year

  • Rio_d says:

MORE SNAKE MEN!!!!!!! I KID. HE LOOKS FANTASTIC, BUT MY FAVORITES AS A CHILD WERE THE SNAKE MEN………

  • Stink-E says:

Looks fantastic! I just hope they don't botch it by making any changes to the final product. The only thing I kind of don't like is that the armor covers up his whole face with the neck not extended.
On the vintage fig, the armor only covers his bottom lip and chin. Otherwise, can't wait to get him!!

  • PAT says:

mekaneck has 2 Triklops' bracelets. Is that a good choice ? He could have had He'Man's left bracelet in a metallic blue colour.

  • alffellfromsky says:

I THINK IT'S GREAT WERE GETTING SO MANY OF THE MAINSTREAM CHARACTERS THIS YEARS, BUT IT FEEL KIND OF WEIRD. MAYBE MATTEL IS RELEASING SO MANY OF THE MAINSTREAM FIGURES THIS YEAR BECAUSE THEIR afraid that next year subscriptions will be low, so they are trying to bring out as many mainstream characters as they can just in case the subs are low. what do you think dan? you think this might be possible.

  • Chris says:

Seems like they are responding to the heat they got for the star sisters pack. There are tons of figures and variations we don’t have yet. I heard they had it planned at least 3 years ahead. I hope that is the case. Mekaneck looks great they can releases him in 6 months with that Snake Man-at-Arms armor so he looks all 200x and I’ll buy that too. Hell I haven’t the read the DC book for the summer and I’ll buy Figures basEd on Tan’s art right now. How about King Randor in 200x colors there is a TON of stuff they can do with this line yet!

  • I used to LOVE Mekaneck as a kid, but for some reason, my love of him didn't continue as I grew older. I'm not sure whether I'll get him or not.

HOWEVER, he looks fantastic and really is a great homage to the original figure.

  • P. Tear says:

This line seems to have a lot of ebb and flow. While I think 2011 was a good year for MOTUC, this year the tide seems to be really coming in.

  • Brad says:

Mekaneck? Okay, I may have to jump back into this mess now…

  • […] going to fill in one of the last major gaps in the Masters of the Universe Classics line as Mekaneck finally appears! I haven’t checked to see if people are bitching about him anywhere (Current guess: yes, […]

  • Poe Ghostal says:

I think he looks great. Can't wait. But between Spikor and Mekaneck, I'm really only left with one last figure I need for my childhood collection (Ram-Man, natch).

Mekaneck has the distinction of being the one MOTU figure I distinctly remember opening on Christmas as a kid. I've always liked him.

  • 2Collect says:

This is one of the MOTU figures I have been wanting. Now all I need is a mantana and I will be happy. 🙂
